Privacy Choices
A short, practical page for making a privacy request. Which rights apply to you depends on where you live and which law applies—so this page explains the options plainly rather than promising every right to everyone.

1. Make a request
Email legal@getonto.org with the subject line “Privacy Request”. Include what you are asking for, the email address or company name you used when contacting us, and the country or state you are in so we can apply the right law.
You can also write to Getonto Inc., 1 Dundas Street W, Suite 2500, Toronto, ON M5B 2H1, Canada, or raise it during a call to +1 647 792 4646.
2. Rights that may be available
- Access — a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — fixing information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Deletion — removing information where there is no overriding legal or business reason to keep it
- Portability — receiving certain information in a portable format, where applicable
- Restriction — pausing certain processing, where applicable
- Objection — objecting to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
- Withdrawal of consent — for anything we do on the basis of consent
- Opt-out — of sale, sharing or targeted advertising, where a law provides that right; none of these activities currently take place
- Appeal — where a state or national law provides a right to appeal a refused request
3. How we handle a request
We may ask for enough information to verify your identity, to make sure we do not disclose information to the wrong person. We do not charge for a reasonable request, and we will not treat you differently for making one.
We respond within the period required by the law that applies to you—generally within 30 days, extended only where the law permits and only with notice to you.
An authorised agent may act for you where the law allows; we will ask for proof of that authority.
4. Limits
Some requests cannot be completed in full. We may need to keep certain information to meet a legal obligation, to complete or record a business transaction, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If we cannot act on a request, we will explain why.
5. Marketing preferences
To stop receiving marketing messages, use the unsubscribe link in any message or email legal@getonto.org. Messages about an active enquiry or a live engagement are not marketing and may continue.
6. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to a supervisory authority—for example the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or a provincial authority, your EEA national data protection authority, the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, a US state attorney general where applicable, or the relevant authority in your jurisdiction in Asia.
We would prefer the chance to resolve it first: legal@getonto.org.
GetontoTM does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising or targeted advertising. There is therefore no “Do Not Sell or Share” mechanism to offer—if that ever changes, one will be added here and in the footer before any such activity begins.
